GoodsForecast, a leading developer of integrated business planning and supply chain management solutions, has announced s that it has started accepting applications for its online hackathon. During the 48 hours of the competition, teams will have to create models to solve the problem of ensuring product representation on the store’s shelves.
The GoodsForecast Hack Hackathon will take place on October 20 through 22 in an online format. During the competition, participants will have the opportunity to demonstrate their skills and potential, create useful business solutions and compete for cash prizes and memorable gifts. The hackathon’s prize fund is RUB 200 thousand.
Teams will be invited to develop machine learning models and solve one of two problems of determining on-shelf-availability during no-sales intervals using the GoodsForecast.OSA industry toolkit. The hackathon task will be selected by the team during registration. The total duration of the hackathon will be 48 hours. During that time, under the guidance of the company's experts, the participants will have to prepare and present their solutions. Thanks to the hackathon's online format, the participants will be able to join the competition from anywhere in the country at a time convenient for them.
Teams’ performance will be judged based on the quality of their projects and workability of their proposed models. The most promising developments of the finalists will be selected for AV tests in real conditions, in Dixie chain stores.
Students, young specialists and professionals are invited to participate in the hackathon. Junior and Middle level professionals can get valuable teamwork experience and an opportunity to establish new contacts for collaboration. It is also an opportunity for students to make a name for themselves and continue to cooperate with GoodsForecast.

The hackathon was co-organized by the “Opportunities Accelerator” of Lomonosov Moscow State University’s “Vorobyovy Gory” Innovation Scientific and Technology Center whose educational cluster GoodsForecast joined this summer.
